Now online: the completely sold out 15th edition of ID&T’s Trance Energy 2008 at the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht. 30.000 partygoers saw the laser, light and music effects and techniques with major artists such as Tiësto, Ferry Corsten and Marco V (mainstage). In the club stage we found Jean, Roy Gates, but also Marcel Woods, Ernesto vs. Bastian and Rank1. The future stage accomodated Sean Tyan and Airbase.
Today in the Sp!ts, the second largest newspaper in the Netherlands (500.000 copies), two articles: one on climbing Mt.St.Helens and one on Scuba diving Vancouver Island’s Barkley Sound, also known as the Emerald Paradise.

Four X-rays and two doctors later my elbow did turn out to be fractured. Not too bad fortunately but I got the full cast anyway! Should be for just a short while though…

While searching for the Dhow images I came across some older DJ Tiesto images that I hadn’t sorted out. They were made at the Radio555 relief concert at the Dam in the heart of Amsterdam.

As the senior photographer of the organizing Radio538 party I was allowed frontstage for the whole gig. A bit alone as all other photographers were herded somewhere else. Almost got me into a fight with some overzealous security guy but it got sorted out in the end. These three were still lying around in my archives. Enjoy!

Lately, I’ve been getting quite a few request for hi-res images from the Dhow sailing boats that I captured along the Tanzanian coast in 2004. So, I figured it was time to make a decent posting about these incredible sailing ships that transport cargo and people over the rough seas of the Indian Ocean. At the end of this post there is a slideshow with decent captions about the Dhows, Zanzibar, Dolhpin watching and Stonetown. Enjoy!
