It’s funny how things take their way sometimes. One moment you are walking with you bulky underwater photography equipment, a few months later one of your photo’s has inspired a painter and the result is hanging on a wall at an exhibition in Gold Coast, Australia.

While on assignment for Duikmagazine (DiveMagazine) in Port Ghalib in Egypt I ran into Roy and Janice, an Australian couple who were enjoying their new Catamaran at this incredible diving destination. A couple of glasses of excellent Australian wine, not easy to get hold of in Egypt, Roy and I found out we have a shared passion for wild animals: he painting them, I photographing them.
Obvously I was flattered he wanted to use some of my images for his paintwork, the result you can see above. 32 of his paintings are now on display at a Gold Coast Art Gallery. I couldn’t resist sharing a few of those.
