An interior shoot for Tulp Magazine (December 2009 issue) took me to the high-profile Noordeinde street in Den Haag. The owners of Byron&Jones and Chivasso have an amazing, 33 room, house in the center of the city which they completely redecorate every few years. What a pleasure to photograph!

A weird combinatio took me all along the South African Coast and inland: sharks & hotels. A nice report on some of the nicest hotels in South Africa along the Route of the African Sun. Published in 2007 for Tulp Magazine.
It’s good to be surprised now and then. So, while shooting the yearly Totally Snow event in Nassfeld, a couple of crazy guys started performing in the basement of the Cube hotel (The Club) as part of the weeks live shows. The bunch, better known as “The Subs” needed about three songs to get the crowd from “moving around” to “totally mental”, seriously one of the best live performances I’ve seen in a while and I ended up with a bunch of photo’s I just had to share.
Yes, yes, yes it’s party-season time so my log is stuffed with event images for a while. This weekend was ID&T’sTomorrowland in Belgium, based on the very succesful Dutch Mysteryland series. De Schorre, a recreational area, just seems to be made for this sort of thing: lot’s of water, hills and plenty of green to give it a good atmosphere.

Saturday started out with a somwewhat smaller area (funny thing: in Holland Saturday would be the busiest day I guess) but it was just nicely packed and I just really enjoyed the feeling. I guess Belgium people are just a bit more relaxed and don’t pull on you arms all the time shouting “photo, photo!”. And, if for some reason, somebody does ask for a picture to be taken (politely ofcourse), it’s most often good-looking peeps. I like that!
Port Ghalib is a newly constructed resort and marina very close to the airport of Marsa Alam in the South of the Egyption Red Sea. In 2007 and 2008 I had the opportunity to stay and photograph the immense project as it just opened its doors. Incredible to imagine that before these buildings there was only sand and rocks. The Palace Hotel has the largest manmade saltwater pool area in the world.
